It's Blizzard, it'll be huge, it'll be competitive. They managed to make a game about cards an esport and have a healthy competitive scene for HoTS in a market that has LoL and Dota2 (two games which are arguably way better for competitive play).

Overwatch will be fine peepz

not sure about those lock on insta kill ults but hey gota have some form of rage inducing thing to piss of the masses. One thing I don't get is why they allow you to change team comps halfway through a round, allows for more tactics you can argue, but sorta allows you to go oh shit this comp isn't working quickly switch.

Well the insta lock on ults aren't even that strong outside of pubs in terms of just killing people. It takes insane positioning, timing, map control, communication and luck to pull off a High noon that takes out 4 people. Ults like that are mainly used to zone, create space, and gain map control.

In terms of team comp, there's no real argument against being able to change Heroes mid game IMO. It's the entire point of the game...dynamic team composition, working with counters and hero synergies etc. You are punished for switching heroes by losing ult charge.

Not sure why 'oh shit this comp isn't working quickly switch' is a problem, the alternative is playing in an environment like League/DOTA where characters can't be switched, the main difference being you have no control over what the enemy will pick. Heroes aren't just generally strong or generally bad, they are all* a burden in some situations, yet are perfect for others. It's not that there is MORE strategy with changing heroes, it is that there is almost no game without. It's like playing LoL 5v5 at Worlds where all players just play randomized, and just play on that Champion the entire game...it's pointless. There's enough of a skill ceiling that you can turn around soft counters through simply outplaying your opponents, you adapt based on the section of the map you are in and what you need to get done in by shifting your comp...you can't really play the game without it.

You guys are forgetting.... stop comparing shit to CS:GO / LoL as a competitive term...

The game is incredibly fun and has a ranking system (which is majorly flawed) still invites players to get better and work as a team to improve solo players e-peen and rating.
Its gonna be competitive 100% its a refreshing game with so many different possibilities and many learning curves not to mention backed by one of the biggest gaming companies in the world.

If Runescape can be competitive there is 100% going to be massive tournaments for this game.

There's already some pretty cool tournaments for this game, I'm fairly confident this game will have a strong scene, even if it never reaches CS levels.
