4v4 Relegation & Finals Info

Welcome all,

This week we begin the last round for the first Season of the Infinite Warfare leagues which is also the first Season with Call of Duty being apart of the CyberGamer Premier League. During this week we see teams in CGp and CGm fighting for a top 4 position in their respective league to make finals and also avoid putting their team at risk during the relegation. This thread will detail the rules of eligibility for those who qualify for the relegation tournaments, explain exactly what they are, as well as to cover all finals details and answer any questions from the community. We will also cover some rule changes that will come into place and be effective for the relegation tournament and all 4v4 leagues from the beginning of Season 2.

Relegation Information

At the conclusion of Season 1, a number of teams from CGp, CGm and CGa will aim to compete at the next level of competition. The bottom 4 CGp and the top 2 CGm teams as well as 2 wildcards will battle it out for the final 4 spots in CGp for Season 2. In addition, we will see the bottom 4 CGm and the top 2 CGa teams as well as 2 wildcards fight it out for the last 4 spots in CGm for Season 2. This may see teams from CGa rise up in the effort to make CGp for Season 3.

Below you can find a list of all requirements and details for the Relegation Tournaments.

  • Date: Saturday 22nd April
  • Format: Double Elimination, Best of Five
  • Ruleset: 4v4 COD World League Ruleset
  • Qualifying: The bottom 4 teams from CGp will be invited to the CGp relegation. Along with that, the top 2 finalists from CGm will be invited to compete. There will be 2 spots left open for teams who are newly formed or do not meet the criteria to keep their Season 1 league spot which will be selected by the admin team. All teams wishing to compete must leave their team name, roster and express which tournament they wish to be considered for (CGp relegation, CGm relegation or both). The same rules from above remain for those competing in the CGm relegation however the bottom 4 from CGm will compete with the top 2 from CGa and 2 wildcard teams.
  • Entry: Active premium subscription.
  • Team Requirements: For teams to retain their Season 1 spots and compete in a relegation tournament, they must contain 50% of their Season 1 roster from Week 7 of the league. For teams who do not meet this requirement or greater, must apply to be selected through the wildcard system.

Note: If a team meeting the above criteria does not wish to compete, their spot will be opened to a wildcard spot, selected by the admin team.

Finals Information

First of all, congratulations! You've fought your way through the pool play to not only come out on top and secure your placement for Season 2 but to to also have the opportunity to line your pocket with some extra cash. The finals will take place over one day where the remaining 4 CGm and 8 CGa teams will play it out in an ODC style tournament to crown the victor which will take place the weekend before the CGPL LAN. For those team attending the LAN, you will be sent a handbook regarding all the information for the event at the conclusion of round 7. A thread regarding tournament links will be released closer to the date and all teams will be created and added by the admin team.

Future Rule Changes

With much feedback from the community as a whole, we have come to some changes that will affect specific leagues (such as CGp) and the entirety of the league system. These changes are aimed at stabilizing leagues as well as streamlining the experience. If anyone wishes to suggest changes they think would be suitable for the league, feel free to make a Support Ticket or message any of the admin team. We will also be approaching teams for feedback on leagues as well as any improvements they would like to see which we will try to implement for future Seasons.

CGp Only Changes

  • Teams will be hard capped to 3 roster changes for the Season. These will be tracked by the entire admin team.
  • Teams may only make team changes up until the end of round 3. Any changes sent in after round 3 date will be denied regardless if you haven't used your 3 team changes.
  • CGm/a players may now be allocated as 'substitutes' for a CGp team whilst remaining in their respective league team. They will only require an active premium subscription to play (just like their normal league participation), so it is at no extra cost of the player. However, substitutes will not receive any prize money from CG directly, it is the prerogative of the team to decide whether they are paid or not and while not be dealt with by any CyberGamer staff. We implore teams to enter the league with registered substitutes as teams will only have 1 designated team change for their substitute players which be used up until Week 7 of pool play. A team may have up to 3 substitute players at one time, allowing for a maximum roster size of 7 players.

All league Changes

  • Players may now move UP AND DOWN league ladders, however there is a restriction. Players may move up any amount of leagues but are only allowed to go down one league. For example, a CGp player cannot drop to CGa, only CGm at most.

As we move towards the end of our first Season under the CGPL banner, we'd love to thank every single person and team for making the Season the success it was. New records were made, and we hope we can break them again come Season 2. For those that haven't managed to make finals for Season 1, we hope to see you bounce back in Season 2 and have the success you've sought after.

Many Thanks,
PS Admin Team
