Hi Everyone,

My name is Chris and I am the Tournament Organizer at Over9K Gaming Lounge in Melbourne, Victoria.

I just wanted to make a quick post here on CyberGamer about our upcoming Dota 2 LAN Tournament which will be happening next month on Saturday, the 15th of October.

We've run several Dota 2 LAN Tournaments in the past, but this is the first time we've shared the event here on CyberGamer.

Date: Saturday, 15th of October, 2016

TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION, EQUIPMENT & PRIZES:

Sign Up – Preregistration Only.

In order to participate in this event, preregistration will be mandatory however payment will be taken on the day.

To preregister your team, you will need to send through the following information via Private Message on our Facebook Page:

Team Name:
Players Names (including the nominated Captain and any subs):
Match Time Slot: (Please Select in order of Preference)
Morning (10.00am – 2.00pm)
Afternoon (1.00pm – 5.00pm)

NOTE – Each team will need to send through both time slots in order of preference. We will do our best to allocate your matches according to your preference, but please understand that it may not be possible to allocate every team perfectly.

IMPORTANT – Preregistrations will close MIDNIGHT, MONDAY, 10TH of OCTOBER or when the team cap is reached.


Team Size – 5 + 2 Subs Maximum

Tournament Entry Fee: $30 per Player (Subs are free)
($10.00 Cover Charge, $20.00 towards Prize Pool)

Spectators – Free


Payment – Cash & Eftpos accepted (Eftpos payments will incur a 50c surcharge.)



EQUIPMENT
Players are more than welcome to bring their own equipment to use if they would prefer to do so.
Please contact us prior to the event if your equipment requires additional third party software to be used.



PRIZES
1st – 70% of Total Prize Pool
2nd - 30% of Total Prize Pool

- The Prize Pool Distributions works as follows, for every team that participates $100.00 is added to the Prize Pool.
As an example, in the event that 16 teams participate, the prize pool of $1600.00 is split 70/30 between the Winning Team and the Runner Up.




GAME RULES & TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

POOL STAGE
Tournament Format – Double Elimination
Pool Size – 4
Match Format – Captain's Mode

Pool Stage Matches:
- Best of 1
- Selection Priority will be determined via a coin toss. The team with selection priority may pick either their side of the map OR the drafting order.
- 2 Teams from each Pool will advance to the Finals, 1 Upper Bracket Team and 1 Lower Bracket Team.


FINALS – TOP 8
Tournament Format – Double Elimination
Match Format – Captain's Mode

Upper and Lower Bracket Matches:
- Best of 1.
- Selection Priority will be determined via a coin toss. The team with selection priority may pick either their side of the map OR the drafting order.

Grand Finals:
- Best of 3 with No Game Advantage.
- Selection Priority will be given to the Upper Bracket Team for Game 1 and will alternate for Games 2 and 3.
The team with selection priority may pick either their side of the map OR the drafting order.




SCHEDULE:
9.00 AM - Venue open for Registration, Warmup and Setup.
9.45 AM – Pool A, B, Teams Check-In
10.00 AM – Pool A, B Matches Start

12.45 PM – Pool C, D Teams Check-In
1.00 PM – Pool C, D Matches Start

4.00 PM – Finals Bracket Start (Top 8)
11.00 PM - Tournament Ends.

Note - All teams and players must be present by their designated check-in times. Failing to do so will result in being excluded from the tournament, no exceptions will be made.

The tournament end time is a rough estimate and will vary depending on how many people sign up and how the matches progress.
