2 - Player Requirements
2.1 - Expectations

  • To compete in the CyberGamer Rainbox 6 ladder, you must have a registered CyberGamer account in accordance with the sites Terms and Conditions.
  • You are required to have a valid steam account verified on your profile. To verify your steam account, follow the instructions at this link
  • Your steam account is your sole responsibility. CyberGamer is not responsible for any issues, problems or concerns regarding Steam accounts.

2.2 - Sportsmanship

CyberGamer users are required to uphold, observe and respect a reasonable level of sportsmanship. This level of sportsmanship is expected to be conducted prior to, during and after CyberGamer matches and during the general use of CyberGamer. Unsportsmanlike conduct is not allowed. Sportsmanship does not only refer to the other team, general abuse or non compliance towards administrators, casters or spectators will count as unsportsmanlike behavior.

Sportsmanship also translates to forums, excessive trolling of the CG forums will result in bans and in extreme cases may result in match bans and forum access revoked.

Consistently breaking this rule will result in a one week player match ban.

Players are also expected to abide by the code of conduct set out by Ubisoft

2.3 - In-game Aliases / Handles

CyberGamer requires users to label themselves in CyberGamer matches with an in-game alias similar or distinguishable enough to their CyberGamer account username. Inappropriate in-game aliases will not be tolerated, including names which have racism, abuse, drug use / themes.

You are also required to correctly set your team name, setting your team name to anything other than your actual team name will result in penalties.

Note: If a referee is not present and the name is seen as offensive, contacting a CyberGamer R6 administrator to deal with the issue is encouraged and expected.

Consistently breaking this rule will result in a one week player match ban.

2.4 - Team Captains

CyberGamer R6 teams must have at least one team captain elected. This user has complete control over their team (including the right to remove / add players from their team (presuming it doesn't conflict with a roster change rule)). The team captain has an obligation to the other members on the team to behave professionally and represent the team in a sportsmanlike manner. The team captain is responsible for his teams behaviour during CyberGamer and is thus accountable for any outcomes thereof. The captain needs to ensure the correct score is entered or if a dispute is lodged.

2.5 - Eligibility
To be eligible to play in a match, you must have joined the ladder and been accepted before the challenge was made.
Players who are listed as ineligible may be able to play in the match with prior, explicit written permission from the opposing team.

3 - Exploits
The use of any exploits or map glitches is strictly forbidden. Any users found exploiting any glitches will be punished accordingly, including but not limited to match forfeiture; temporary or permanent bans, or removal of a team from the ladder.
Exploits and glitching is defined as; but not limited to:

  • Any technique that allows a player to make use of a unintended match feature, such as clipping (hiding inside solid objects), placing objects (such as drones) outside the map
  • Using any form of third party tool in tandem with the game, such as Wallhack, ESP, Radar, Aimbot etc.

4 - Disputes
All serious disputes regarding matches will be taken seriously and fully investigated by the CyberGamer administration team.
Disputes will only be taken seriously if accompanied with sufficient evidence of the situation.

5 - Team Requirements
Teams are required to be present and ready to start their match on time. Teams have 15 minutes from the alotted start time to have a minimum of three (3) eligible members in the server.
Matches are to be played with a minimum of three (3) members.

6 - Connection Issues
Server and player crashes
If a player crashes or disconnects during a round, the round will be played out, but the team of that player can request a pause for the next round.
A maximum of 1 pause can be requested per team for crashes / disconnects.
If server host disconnects, the host's team will lose the round.
If a crash occurs during character selection OR preparation / drone phase, no penalty applies the first time, and is not considered a pause the first time either.
Server Problems
If there are widespread connection issues, teams can agree for a restart or a reschedule
If both teams do not agree, the game must be played out, and a dispute ticket opened for CG admins to decide on.
Playing Conditions
The majority of each team must be under 100ms ping and located in AU / NZ. The maximum consistent ping is 150ms, any player with an average higher than that can be asked to leave if the game is within the first four rounds.
Disputes raised at the conclusion of a match regarding ping will not be accepted. It is recommended you raise the issue at the beginning of the match.

7 - Administration
CG referees and Admins will regularly host and spectate ladder matches.
Teams are encouraged to request a referee and one will be made available for the match if required.
ALL games played by the top 5 teams, and ALL semi-final and final games will involve a referee.
ALL semi-final and final matches are to be recorded by at least one player from each team, including all voice communications and held for 30 days (minimum 480p video quality)
In the event of a disputed match, these recordings must be uploaded/made available to CG admins within 48 hours of request.
The CyberGamer administration team reserves the right to make any decision, and any decision made by the team is final.
Should you have any issues with the administration team, please submit a management ticket through the websites support system

I like the rules. Few things:

Western Australian players do not get pings under 100ms. We have 4 in our team total (2 primary, 2 reserves). If we need to play 3-4 players, despite them having NBN and good connections, our team will be ineligible to play, despite being in Australia...

How does one actually pause the match between rounds? Is there a command? Or is it something you can only do if there's an admin / ref presiding?

And how do you start a game with the 3 players on the team? Whenever I've set up a lobby, it's not given me an option to start until we've had 5 on both sides.

A little clarification on finals would be nice, too. Surprise end of season (I've been offline for 4 days, come back to find our team has 4 days left!), don't know how many teams will be in finals, nor eligibility for finals (e.g. two teams are yet to play a game and are in finals contention).

hey OeterB,

the ping rule is more focused on AUS/NZ players, and unless the team opposite you disputes the match based on pings, you should't have any issues.

The season is ending so that the rules can come into full effect. Welcome to the new teams, but any teams with no wins isn't going to be in the finals.

Also, the next season will have both a start and finish date so all those involved can plan around it.

There was a rule suggestion thread up for quite a while before these were introduced

Rule Suggestions

Enjoy your next few games, good luck

I posted quite a bit in said rule suggestions thread, suggesting we keep the 150ms average and simply adding the Aus/NZ restriction, as it was my concern for my WA players. The way the rules read now will disadvantage any player in WA and potentially a large number from NZ, thus potentially affecting teams dramatically.

It doesn't help that the ping reader on Siege / the servers are shockingly bad --- I know that I receive a ping of <10ms on every other game, speed test and service, and over ~40+ms on Siege. But we will see how we go. We're happy to wait it out and see what happens!

But anyway, any help with the Pause / starting with non-full teams for future reference would also be good?

pausing is basically a server restart , and currently you cant start a game with less players unless an actual player is the host. but once the server starts, if people leave it can continue

just thought of one suggestion, add in a new condition to restart server if there is thermite bug as that could lose the round for you if that happens, obviously referee or other team would have to view to confirm bug

There is no link. It's been in game since Alpha. It's where Thermite uses charge on reinforced wall (normally hatch), it burns through, and it's still there.

Will we see a rule update re: game mode / maps with the new DLC coming? The new realism game mode might be good for comp? And the new map needs to be added to the options. New DLC looks good. Anti cheat from July 27, too. GG, cheats!

Guess we'll need to test it to see the limitations / restrictions. But might be good.

Out of interest, does anyone know if you can use the operators in custom games if you've not unlocked them?
