Keep an eye on @gamestah and @jamgamingau on Twitter for updates to the ruleset. The competitive scene is still developing so you should expect some rule/structure changes as we progress, test and compare to other competitions.

Week 2 registrations are open. We're using battlefy this time: https://battlefy.com/gamestah/jam-stah-overwatch-weekly-2/5747943c1708c5821219010e/info

Other changes to the tournament:

Quote:
Please note critical changes in this week's tournament:

1. The tournament is now single elimination (Rule 4.1)

2. Matches are now bo3, with the Grand Final bo5 (Rule 4.3). Map drafting has been adjusted to suit (Rule 4.4)

3. A points scoring system has been introduced (Rule 4.6)

We've introduced seeding to adjust to the new single elim format.

We are also allowing spectator coaches. The client allows the lobby leader to assign a spectator to a team. They are then restricted to first person view through only the one team.

Bear in mind we are tinkering with the format from week to week to get to a place where we can settle on a format that works well, so after this week's tournament we'll again be seeking feedback and looking at what tweaks we need to make to ensure you all have the best experience possible.

Thanks for taking on board my suggestion!

We're not accumulating points from week to week at this stage - each JAM-stah tournament is independent of the other so it's a fresh start for teams with each new registration.

And zeror: happy to make the accommodation. Blizzard hath given us six spectator slots, therefore shall six slots be used, praise be unto blizzard

So... time for a bit of a post mortem from last night. Let us know what you think worked/didn't work. For starters:

- format still too long. We've tried double elim + bo1 and now single elim + bo3. What other options are there?
- Seeding could have been done better. We are working on a fix for this already, expect an announcement soon
- Lobby creation etc was still a nightmare. But maybe better than last week? We need a way of queuing up lobbies so we can jump from one game broadcast to the next without massive delays
- we've tried battlefy now instead of toornament. I'm not sure the tournament management went any better. Thoughts?
