Introduction
Oceanic SMITE is back on CyberGamer for the first Split of 2016. With both a returning Pro League and a new Challenger's Cup system, you definitely want to be a part of competitive SMITE this year!

Format and League Size
Oceania SMITE Pro League
The OPL in Split One will consist of 6 teams: the top 2 from the regional finals last year and the remaining 4 from 2 open qualifier tournaments. The top 2 of these 6 teams at the end of the split will head to the CGPL LAN, held at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, to determine the Split One champion, and take the lion's share of the $10,000 prize pool.

Matches will be played in a BO3 format on or after Thursday of the week they are being streamed, and will be broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays, over the 4 week split.

Finals will be on the 16/04 and 17/04, you can read more about that here:

The Challenger's Cup system replaces the previous Open Ladder system of last year. Instead of a ladder with matches being played at indeterminate times, there will be weekly tournaments held on Sundays. Points will be assigned to teams, determined by their placement in that week's tournament. Teams continue to accumulate points as long as they participate in tournaments across the 5 week split. At the end of the split, the top 4 Challenger's teams (based on points) will play the bottom 4 OPL teams in a relegation tournament for a chance at being in the next split of the OPL.

Do you have a favourite player in the OPL? Someone you think is the best at what they do and should be recognised for it? This year the OPL will have All-Star match between two teams of Oceania's best Pro League SMITE players! Two individuals in every role will be selected from a combination of fan voting, OPL player voting and CG admin voting.

These 10 players will then form a pool from which two "coaches" will then draft a team of 5 players! The teams will play a single Best of 3 series against each other for the glory of being the All-Star team of the OPL, and of course, your entertainment. Voting opens in Week 3 of the OPL and running through the end of the CGPL LAN.

The smitegame.com announcement says it's going to be streamed on teamdowntv. Might want to ask them to point to the new cgtv_smite channel instead.

Still juggling some stuff, was only like 2 hours ago I was able to confirm we could get a channel up for Smite with partnership. Until that point I was still not sure the go to channel, as CGPL Div1 matches not allowed to be streamed on community channels. So all this is being sorted in the background

Thats the goal for sure,
But with the challenger series running underneath really allows teams to improve, and something to work for.
