I'd say the PRO positions, barring any mishaps, are pretty much sorted and seeded reasonably, except for maybe group 1. Amateur spots look up for grabs and should be a whole lot of fun. Looking forward to it.

Considering that 7 of the best teams in the competition are in groups B and D and only the top 2 make pro, meaning the next 2 for both groups would probably be filled with strong teams that deserve pro bracket wouldn't be fun for weaker teams at Amateur LAN

Wait Saturday during the day, not night? With only 5 games to play can't we do them during the night and daytime on Sunday? Many people have to work. Let us know.

Just for peoples info, the way the groups were picked was like so ;

We decided upon 4 x tier 1 teams 4 x tier 2 teams and the rest as tier 3.

Each team from tier 1 was put randomly into 1 of the groups (1 in each group). The same was done for tier 2.

Then all tier 3 teams randomly filled the rest.

Team 6 in each group are tier 1. Team 5 in each group are in tier 2.

We will be in contact with team captains later this week working out the online schedule.

Good luck all

Cheers, Jon

Captains please advise as soon as you can which times you *can't* play on Saturday 27th during the 3 time blocks mentioned above.

Considering that the majority of the stronger teams are in groups B and D I don't think weaker teams will find it very enjoyable when they make the amateur bracket and find they are versing stronger teams that should be in Pro.

Hey guys, so with 24 teams all registered and paid we can now confirm the cash prize will be increased. 2nd place for Pro goes up to $350 and 1st place for Amateur goes up to $250.

Best of luck this weekend to all. We hope ALL teams have a good time competing against each other while also having fun.

I would like to stress the importance of good sportsmanship and manners. Any sort of bad sportsmanship and bad behaviour will not be accepted and will have severe consequences.

One type of unacceptable bad sportsmanship is intentionally losing/throwing a match. Any team that does this risks being disqualified from the tournament.

Further, we expect all teams to try their best at all times. If for eg a team plays unusually bad during the qualifiers , makes the amateur tournament, then at the LAN easily takes Amateur first place and the prize. This team risks getting disqualified and going home with nothing but shame.

Regarding the seeding/brackets for the online qualifiers; it can be difficult to seed a large number of teams when teams/rosters often change. However, we believe our choice of the top 8 teams are pretty close to the mark, and having only 2 of each of these teams in each group will give those teams a fair chance to make the Pro tourney.

The random gods may have made some groups harder than others, but that is something to be expected.

Times for games will be given to all closer to the end of the week.

Cheers,
Jon
